May I take this opportunity to thank you for your support in our second year. I am sure you will agree we have done extremely well in our fundraising efforts but also have had some fantastic events to enjoy along the way. Our second year accounts are almost ready and we have set a date for our 2nd AGM, this will be held at the Pleasley Miners Welfare on Wednesday 13th July at 7-30pm onwards.
A date has been set for members to have a vote / say at the AGM, this is 11th July 2011
There may be some changes in the structure of the Pleasley Stags with new positions that need to be “voted in” etc, so you renewal / presence / input would be much appreciated.
The deadline date of the 11th July is also there to have your name “put forward” to be involved in any of the “key positions” within the group. The outline of the structure planned is shown below.
So please renew your membership (even if you aren't planning to come to the AGM) we need your support, we have raised significant funds to help the Stags. We are recognised as one of the main Mansfield Town supporters groups and are highly regarded by the football club.

Lets also not forget the great day out we had at Wembley with around 90 people on the coaches from Pleasley. A big thank you goes out to Niggo for organising everything, and to Gary Marsh for the loan of his mini bus.
Funds were raised on the day with the help of Kevin Weaver and Chris Reavill. Thanks to all who participated……. Up the Stags……….

During our second year we helped the Stags in many ways but also take with us some great memories of nights, like our Abba night and the Robbie Williams and comedian Xmas event.
What we’ve done with our fundraising this year for the Stags:
1) At the beginning of the season we sponsored the player Tyrone Thompson
2) We were match ball sponsors of the Torquay FA cup game
3) We paid for the production of the Stags fixture list card which featured the The Pleasley Stags on one side
4) Pleasely Stags joined the SFU giving us a place on the “board” and a direct line “voice” to the MTFC supporters director Darren Shaw.
5) Home game v Crawley we had a table in the Kevin Bird suite for the match and post match Elvis gig. (For anyone who couldn't make it see the enclosed summer event featuring CARN C RYDER)
6) Our biggest single investment this year was a £1000 contribution to the MTFC “Free the Mill” fund which goes towards the legal battle to reclaim Field Mill from Keith Haslam (Good luck Mr Radford we are with you all the way on this one)
7) Table at end of season dinner (Funded by person attending with £5 P.S. discount)

That's right ladies, this ones for you, ULTIMATE ROBBIE will be taking to the stage at Pleasley Miners Welfare on Friday the 3rd of December. The Robbie Williams Tribute will be accompanied by established comedian Rod Beech, in what is set to be the best Pleasley Stags event to date (and the others have been phenomenal!) Their is also a Disco on during the intervals as well, so you can knock the shapes out on the dance floor.

For the gents reading this, I doubt their will be many of the women reading a Stags related website, so we're relying on you really! We want this to be a fantastically backed event and something to smile about at the festive time of year after results haven't been so kind to us lately.

So please, if you've not been to one of our previous events and are umming and arring, then get yourselves to the Welfare and I promise, you'll have a fantastic night.

Pleasley Stags would like to thanks owner John Radford and CEO Steve Barker for joining us at the White Swan in Pleasley last night.

Steve Barker was initially going to be taking questions from the fans but during the interval, the main man John Radford joined us.

They were flanked by our former owners and current non-executive directors Steve Hymas, Steve Middleton & Andy Saunders.

Attended by 30 plus folks, the MTFC board answered all questions open and honestly, including the hot subject of the departure of Manager David Holdsworth.

The session was filmed by media man Mark Stevenson, so hopefully will be available on http://www.mansfieldtown.net/ in the very near future.

Fans Forum Thursday 18th November

Thursday the 18th November at the White Swan in Pleasley, MTFC Chief Executive (and Pleasley lad!) Steve Barker will be present to take questions and give answers from the fans.

Gentlemans afternoon a great success!

Sunday the 1st of November saw Pleasley Stags host a gentlemans afternoon at the Lakeside pub. A blue comedian and his two very talented assistants took to the stage in order to entertain the 60+ strong crowd that had paid the entrance fee for the afternoon.

First of all, comedian Joe King entertained the crowd with some witty one liners, whilst also having constant digs at those filthy Spireites! (If they smartened up a bit, they'd make good tramps!)

After his 45 minute set, Joe stepped aside to let his two assistants do the entertaining whilst also getting the crowd involved, it's safe to say that the temperature certainly rose in the room, especially when they were eating fire!

A great afternoon was had by all and Pleasley Stags made a nice little profit that all goes along way towards helping the Stags!

Volunteers Needed at Westlife Gig!

Mansfield Town FC are asking for volunteers on Saturday 21st of August in assisting with the movement of the advertisement boards for the Westlife concert.

If you are interested in helping out the club in the movement of these boards, then please contact Laura or Kathryn on 01623 482482.

This will take place in the week leading upto the Westlife gig, for more information visit http://www.mansfieldtown.net/ plus the Chad & Mansfield 103.2 Radio.

Pleasley Stags are delighted to announce that the winner of the pinboard competition at the MTFC open day and winner of the £50 prize is Lacey Roebuck.

Lacey scooped the prize after predicting where Elvis Pleasley was in the world, she was closest to the destination of New Cambridge in Canada.

Hi folks, Pleasley Stags will be holding its monthly meeting on Thursday 1st July at Lakeside Leisure, Meden Square, Pleasley. 7.30pm start.

Great news for Pleasley Stags members, MTFC as a gesture of grattitude for the hard work that the clubs supporters clubs have put in to helping throughout the campaign, have given all members the opportunity for free pie and peas during any England game at this world cup.

To take advantage of this offer, you must collect a voucher from the ticket office and take the voucher upto the Sandy Pate bar where the game will be screened on the new 110 inch big screen.

Entry to the venue is free regardless of wether you are a member of Pleasley Stags or not, if you're not currently a member, then you can pick up our membership forms which will be available on the night, those of you looking to renew for the 2010/11 Season will also be able to do so on the night. People who are attending this event should arrive from 8pm onwards .

Pleasley Stags donate to the 12th Stag

A £200 donation from Pleasley Stags has gone to the independently run fund raisers the 12th Stag.

Members of the Pleasley Stags committee acted on behalf of the supporters group to give to the fund which was set up shortly before the end of the Season. Over £2,400 has been raised in little over a month for a fund that is there to be handed over to MTFC to help out with player transfer fees and wages.

Pleasley Stags Player of the Season

During an awards ceremony held at the Mansfield Town end of Season Dinner, representatives of Pleasley Stags, Chris Revill, Gary Hagan and Nigel Beastall presented the Pleasley Stags Player of the Year award to Mansfield Town's number 16 and full-back, Gary Silk.

The award bucked the trend of the evening which saw Alan Marriott sweep most of the awards, picking up the SSA, Ollerton Stags, Chad Player of the Year & Mansfield Town's Players Player of the Year. Gary Silk did enough to persuade the members of Pleasley Stags that he was the man for them to take the first, of many more to come, Player of the Season awards.
